KidsBookSeries.com Privacy Policy Last updated: May 17, 2018
By using this website, you consent to the terms and conditions of this privacy policy and to our use and processing of personal information as stated below.
Information we collect
We do not collect any data that personally identifies an individual through the use of our website.
We do, however, use "cookies" and IP addresses to collect anonymous traffic data, including but not limited to: the number of visitors to our site, the languages used by our site visitors, the internet browsers used by our site visitors, and the duration of the site visits. Our traffic data script reads the IP addresses to determine the geographic country or continent of our site visitors, but does not save the IP addresses so no human ever sees them. Cookies are used to count the number of pages visited and the duration of each visit.
We also use cookies to provide some site features. For example, if you are on a book page and are looking for audiobooks specifically, you can hide the other editions to avoid having to scroll down past them. When you navigate to another book page, the website uses cookies to remember your previous choice and only display audiobooks.
If you click on shopping or advertising links on our site, our advertisers may also use "cookies" to allow them to track the sales that were referred to them by our site, in order for them to give us credit for the referral. We do not receive any information back from our advertisers that personally identifies their customers to us.
Some of our third party vendors, including Google, and their partners, may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. You may opt out of the use of cookies for interest-based advertising from Google's ad network by going to Ads Settings.
In order to comply with the European Union's data collection requirements, we check our site visitors' IP addresses the first time they visit, to determine if their geographic location is within the European Union so we can display a cookie consent message to them. We do not save the IP addresses after the check is done and the consent has been obtained or denied.
If you contact us through e-mail or regular mail, we may keep your e-mail or mailing address and any other information you provide to us on file.
When you use our search function to search for children's book series, we keep track of the search criteria that were used as well as the IP address.
What are cookies?
Computer cookies are small text files which are stored on your computer to enable our systems to easily store and carry temporary pieces of information from one visit to our website to the next, or from our website to one of our affiliates' or advertisers' website, without overburdening the web server with massive amounts of data storage.
How we use the information we collect
We use the anonymous site traffic statistics to improve our website and our services.
We use the book search data to help us improve the search function. We also use that data to make a list of series or authors searched by our site users but not yet on the website, to be added in the future. We use the IP addresses saved with the search data to group which searches were performed by the same user. This allows us to prioritize our book series additions based on how many users are searching for the same series.
We do not sell any data that we collect, nor share the information with any third party.
We do not sell or share any personal information we receive from site visitors who contact us through e-mail or regular mail.
We may amend this policy at any time by posting the amended policy on this site. All amended policies shall automatically be effective 10 days after they are initially posted.
